Sam-8 months

Movin', movin', movin'...those three words best describe little Sambean now days. He's been crawling for the past month and each day he just gets stronger and stronger. He's able to pull himself up to pretty much anything he can. There have been a lot of bonks and tears since this all started happening, but I know there's tons more of that to come once the walking begins :)

He's such a good sleeper at night. It's been such a blessing for Dan and me. Bedtime is when he starts to get tired and starts to crawl around aimlessly and moaning at the same time. This is usually between 7 and 7:30pm. We'll keep him up a little later if we're out doing something fun though. We go to him by 7 if he's awake, but sometimes we're lucky and he'll sleep til about 7:30 or 7:45am.  He takes two naps a day, ranging from 1-2 hrs each.
He's become quite the independent eater when it comes time for a bottle.  He's always really hungry for his morning  bottle (about 6-8 oz.), but a lot of times, could take or leave the two bottles during the day.  Depending on how much baby food he's eaten, sometimes he'll only drink a little bit of formula before bed...each day is different.  He weighs about 19 lbs.   He's so good at eating baby food and some real people food.  It's been fun to give him new things.  He's especially fond of avocado and fruit, he just loves it.  I'm excited to keep introducing more foods, as he's getting much better at using his little fingers to put stuff in his mouth  (this can be good and bad!)  Kind of likes the sippy, but mainly just chews on it.
He just LOVES his Dad.  One of the best times of the day is when he goes in to get Sam in the morning and when he comes home from work.  Such a big smile on his face when Dad's around.
Sam took his first ride on a boat this past month.  It was SO fun!  He loved, loved when we would go fast.  If we were just sitting there, he wasn't loving it-unless of course there were toys around.  He's been quite obsessed with anything shoelace or tassel like.  He loves to chew on anything cloth like as well.  He also loves to be in the water-pool or bath, so fun!
*No sign of teeth yet.
He spends a lot of time playing with his toys and tables.  Sometimes, he can't quite decide on which one he wants and tries to play and stand up to both.  If there's a chance he can pull up on something, he will.
He loves Mr. Monkey.  We were practicing waving hi and all he wanted to do was wave with monkey in his hand.  Sam will give you a high five and wave to you...It's so cool that he understands this and as a new parent, it's just so awesome when they start to respond to you.  We're working on bye-bye.  He is also starting to understand "no" and "yes" and is understanding that stairs and things drop off.  He also shakes his little bum and dances when you ask him to and when any of his toys are making noise.  So cute.
I feel like he looks like such a big boy in jeans and shoes...I just love it.
And for fun, I put some goggles on him.  He didn't really mind them...for the 10 seconds he had them on :)
We just love you Sam, SOOOOOO much!
